My baby won't stop crying! What to do?

A child’s crying is his way of expressing himself. However, when it comes to something constant, it already exceeds the threshold of our patience. Many mothers and fathers exclaim “my baby won’t stop crying!” And they don’t know what to do. In this article, we will help you reverse this situation.

My baby does not stop crying: is this normal?

A child’s crying can be painful, become our worst nightmare  and keep us from enjoying parenthood. Certainly, you’ve heard some parents say, “My baby won’t let me sleep he cries so much,” and you see them with big bags under their eyes and in a “dog” mood.

In addition, they may resign and give up, saying that the baby cries “because it’s normal”. While it’s true that  children use crying to communicate what they feel or need, it’s  also true that they shouldn’t spend all day crying.

So, when is crying normal and when is it excessive? Not all children are the same. You already know this for sure.

Also, you should also keep in mind that newborns cry more. Everything is new for them, so they don’t know their bodies and emotions yet.

My baby won’t stop crying! But why?

To solve your baby’s crying problem, the first step is to determine why your baby cries so much. One of the most common reasons is cramps that occur in the first few months of life. They are characterized by causing stomach pain, gas, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. That way they can be really annoying.

The child may also cry because he is hungry. Maybe breast milk doesn’t completely satisfy her appetite, and she needs formula. Consult a pediatrician to receive proper advice on your little one’s case.

On the other hand, crying may be due to the baby being sensitive to high temperatures, wearing tight clothes, not being able to stand a wet diaper, or being too sleepy because he doesn’t sleep well.

Also, did you know that babies are more nervous and that some environments don’t give them the calm they need? This is usually one reason why they cry nonstop.

Perhaps, in this case, it would be convenient to resort to some musical technique or even take him to a park or for a drive. Changing your air can help you reduce anxiety or stress.

My baby keeps crying and I can’t calm him down!

This is a common problem, especially in first-time parents. Usually, they don’t know how to calm their children’s crying. And, of course, this makes them very nervous.

What they may not know is that this discomfort is transmitted to the baby, and perhaps this is why all the techniques fail.

So,  as a first step, Mom and Dad should try to stay calm. They might use a meditation or breathing technique, go out alone for a while, have herbal tea, or take a nap to calm their nerves a bit.

Once they have calmed down, they should  hold the baby in their arms and place them on their chest so they can feel their mother’s or father’s heartbeat. Some indicate that the shirt must be removed for skin-to-skin contact. Also, lullabies, songs and caresses can help a lot.

Another option is to use the “ The Hold ” method , invented by a doctor in the United States, which calms the crying in a matter of seconds. This method consists of “sitting” the baby in one of your hands first.

Then, with your free hand, position your arms as if you were giving him a hug. Hold it with your hand at chest level and tilt it at 45°, taking care that the little one’s head does not go too far forward.

Finally, you should rock back and forth and make smooth movements with your hips always in a circular fashion. You will see how your baby calms down right away!

If you’ve ever said “my baby won’t stop crying,” we  recommend this technique once you’ve ruled out any health problems or discomfort in the child.

In addition, your pediatrician will be able to help you if you are a first-time mother and don’t know how to calm your baby. So don’t hesitate to consult him!
